Binstead Primary School is one of the first Teaching Schools in the countryBinstead Primary School is one of only 100 schools in England, 37 of which are primary, to be granted teaching school status – a new designation entitling it to lead the training and professional development for staff across the Island. Helen Flynn, Headteacher of Binstead Primary School said: “I am delighted and proud that Binstead has been selected for this prestigious role and that their ongoing commitment to outstanding education has been recognised nationally. It is due to the very dedicated and skilled team at Binstead who work tirelessly to ensure the best for every child. We have a good local reputation for helping develop high standards for Island children and for encouraging staff development.” Steve Munby, Chief Executive of the National College, said: “To take on this role, teaching schools like Binstead Primary need to be among the best in the country - outstanding in their own performance and have a track record of raising standards through school-to-school support.”
